Consultel Associates Ltd is a well establish specialist telecommunications consultancy. The company has demonstrated experience in designing, specifying and implementing networks for national and international clients, achieving the recognition of peers both in the industry and profession. Its specialists have worked overseas regularly and have undertaken work for international “lending” agencies. Consultel is active in projects in Iran as well as in the Asia Pacific region and has in recent years been developing relationships in Turkey.

In August 1999, Consultel received the annual Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand award for "Best Exporter of an ICT Product or Service.” The award recognised the work leading to the rehabilitation of the public telecommunications network on Bougainville Papua New Guinea. In the following year, the Institution of Professional Engineers of NZ judged Consultel the Winner of the IPENZ Entrepreneurial Award 2000. At the TUANZ Awards held in Auckland in August 2000, Consultel received the annual Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand award for “The Telecommunications Consultancy of the Year”.

Consultel have provided advice in areas such as emergency call centres and data networks to the New Zealand Earthquake Commission, New Zealand Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management, and for the Greater Wellington Regional Council (municipality).

In particular, it has personnel with international experience in both feasibility studies and in the administration of construction contracts and supervision of construction of earthquake resistant communication networks and the systems to be used to improve response.
